Perfectly Distressed Oil on Canvas Painting of Lonely MansionFor me it is the wear to this old paintingsome paint loss and some fading toothat makes it great, imparting this mansion with the sense of having been abandoned long ago, and perhaps haunted now! So moody and evocative, making me want to write all sorts of stories about things that happened inside. Late 19th c. or so Id guess. Oil on linen. 10 x 8 Paint loss and aging as evident, but if handled with a little care it seems pretty stable now.
