An English Civil War Period Pikemans Iron Tasset.A very rare to find English civil war period ,pikemans iron tasset. This item which dates to circa 1640 AD, is in excellent allover condition. It would have been attached to the breastplate of a pikeman , with one either side ,to protect the upper thigh area. It shows fabulous decoration to the surface and would likely have belonged to a royalist soldier fighting on the side of King Charles 1st, against Oliver Cromwell. In lovely original condition
