(#16) Stancills StandCatherine White Stoneware, woodfired, natural ash glaze h 2. 75" 11. 25" We have been working with a white clay from the Stancills mine in Maryland for about twenty years. For each work cycle we mix up a new clay body to explore. This year's mix was particularly receptive to the ash, making complex patterns as the flame moved around each piece. I can imagine this shape holding fruit for dessert.
